Dr. Small is a nationally recognized expert in PEDIATRIC SPORTS MEDICINE
as well as ADULT SPORTS MEDICINE. He completed his pediatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York; fellowship training in Pediatric Exercise Medicine at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and additional fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He has served as medical consultant to several high school teams as well as several colleges. His training includes specialties such as concussion management, dance and music medicine, and adolescent sports medicine.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Small is past chairman of the AAP Committee in Sports Medicine which creates national and local policies regarding sports injury prevention as well as various physical activity guidelines.
Dr. Small is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Small lectures extensively and has made frequent appearances on television and radio. His current book Kids and Sports is currently available.
